Public invited to 2nd Permit Advisory Forum meeting, on marine outfall permits

The City's Permit Advisory Forum (PAF) on marine outfalls will hold its second quarterly meeting on Friday, 2 August 2024. The forum aims to engage stakeholders in matters related to the coastal waters discharge permit conditions for the Camps Bay, Hout Bay, and Green Point marine outfalls. All interested and affected parties are invited to join this public meeting.
Following its inaugural meeting on 26 April 2024, the PAF will continue the robust discussions on the compliance of marine outfalls. The Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environmental Affairs (DFFE) agreed that the City's Section 80 Advisory Committee would function as a PAF dedicated to monitoring compliance.
Key issues tabled for discussion may include: average daily flow results, recent reports to the regulatory authorities, water pollution incident investigations and the latest effluent test results for metal, chemical and bacterial sample analysis.
